(1) Root Chakra

The first chakra is the root chakra; situated at the tailbone, it stands for stability, instinct and trust. Its colour is red and stones that support it are garnet, red agate, red jasper, or ruby.


(2) Sacral Chakra

The second chakra is the sacral chakra. It is situated underneath the naval, at the lower belly. Its colour is orange and the stones supporting it are beryl, carnelian, orange jasper, citrin and orange moonstone. It stands for emotionality and helps expressing emotions and feelings.


(3) Solar plexus Chakra

As the name suggests, this chakra is situated at the solar plexus - just where the ribcages come together. Its colour is a sunny yellow and the stones that support this chakra are eye of the tiger, amber, topaz, calcite, yellow turmaline and citrine. 
This chakra stands for willpower, power in general, wisdom and the dealing with experiences and feelings.


(4) Heart Chakra

The heart chakra - at the centre of the chakra line, situated in the middle of your chest. Its colours are green, but can also have a touch of orange, rose or pink. Stones that support the heart chakra are sapphire, aventurine, chrysocolla, jade, moss agate, olivine and emerald.

This chakra stands for love, devotion, empathy, awareness of beauty and harmony.


(5) Throat Chakra

The fifth chakra is situated at the throat and has a lovely light blue as its colour. The stones corresponding with this chakra are aquamarine, blue agate, chalcedony, chrysocolla, larimar, disthene, turquoise and apatite.

The throat chakra stands for communication, self-determination, self-fulfilment and inspiration


(6) Third Eye Chakra

The third eye sits right between the eyebrows, where the nose begins and is often associated with wisdom. The colour of this chakra is a rich, dark blue. The stones that go with this chakra are lapis lazuli, sodalite, azurite, amethyst, sapphire and fluorite. 

This chakra stands for the opening of the soul, willpower, awareness, insight and reason.


(7) Crown Chakra

The last and seventh chakra is the crown chakra. It can either be displayed on the forehead, or at the crown of the head - the highest point of the body and where the body meets the heavens.

The colours for this chakra range from a light purple to white or even a clear colour. Not surprisingly then, the stones that correspond with this chakra are phenakite, herkimer (pure quartz), diamond, clear quartz and light amethyst. 

The crown chakra stands for enlightenment and highest completion.
